In the last ? months in eBid, when I get USA orders for my items, i noticed many choosing Priority mail which is much more expensive than media mail. This was not happening before.
One customer wrote me and canceled purchase of item, angry the listing said $4.00 (which is does), and then when get to pay screen it shows first shipping option of $9.00 on page.
one can use the drop down list, to select the other cheaper option of $4.00 but people are not SEEING this and doing it. AFter the complaint, I tested it out myself and bought an item from my own store, and indeed it was defaulting to priority mail not media mail. I have around 7,500 items. I bulk upload. I looked at code to put in shipping price, and i had priority mail listed first in the options, so then i thought it was due to that. I unlisted all those pages of items, which took hours to check them all off, refresh the pages and delete them. *** THIS IS ANOTHER MAJOR PROBLEM, WE REALLY NEED AN OPTION TO DELETE ALL AUCTIONS AT ONE PUSH OF BUTTON!!!! *** GIVE A POWER UNLIST ALL OPTION PLEASE !!!!
Then I bulk uploaded all items with new shipping charge code, making sure media mail was listed first. I tested it out as far as I could go without buying item, and it seemed that change worked....
ALAS, to my dismay, this has not fixed the problem. I am still getting majority of orders with priority mail being selected. Then having to write to each person and asking them if they want that shipping choice, usually not, then having to refund them the $5 they overpaid. This also delays shipping the item out. It's a BIG CONCERN for me to get this fixed as it is obviously affecting sales when customer thinks it's $4 for shipping and then sees $9 when they move further into the Buying pages. Then wants to cancel out.
Default Shipping option MUST BE SET TO CHEAPEST OF AVAILABLE METHODS!!!!! for country selected. This should be an EASY FIX TO MAKE IN EBID!!! AND NEEDS TO BE DONE ASAP!!! It has to be affecting sales in a major way...
As this was not happening months ago and after having changed order or shipping methods available, i presume this has to be due to a change in code on Ebid site itself.
I presume this is not only happening to me????
