New buyer paid for item and then requested invoice, should I send one ?

I have a buyer with 0 feedback who has won an item via Buy It Now, paid in full via Paypal and then two minutes later requested an invoice.
The invoice is basically a request for payment, so this might be a bit confusing for a new buyer if I send one out when they have already paid.
Should I, (or even can I), send an invoice after I have received the payment ?
I will post the item tomorrow morning, so I could maybe just ignore the invoice request, and mark it as shipped which will let the buyer now that it is on its way.
Any ideas?

Yes you can send an invoice.

When sending it, do not adjust the amounts, but where the text is at the bottom, adjust the text to say "this invoice has been paid and for information only"

I'd go to MY EBID, to the sold category, find the item, then click on the ask a question..........and use it to send them a message....thank them for paying, and say it will be in the mail tomorrow - or whenever.............

I really doubt that ... If they wanted an invoice shipped with their package they should have stated that with the payment.

In a strange situation like this, I would check the information of the eBid buyer against the information (i.e. e-mail, shipping address) of the person who sent the PayPal payment. If they match, no problem, but if they don't, contact the person who sent the payment to verify their intentions. You could have two different people contacting you, one being a swindler using the account information of the other person.

Barring any funny business, one reason that I can think of why a person would request an invoice AFTER paying is that they didn't realize the payment went through because of an error message. Instead of trying to pay again, they asked for an invoice.

So check to make sure you're dealing with ONE person first.

PayPal lets you print a Packaging Slip at the same time of printing the postage label, and when I buy anything I keep my email as proof I have paid for my purchase.
