Thread: Help! Is seller+ worth the $50

Default Help! Is seller+ worth the $50

I just barellly created an account and am wondering if seller plus is right for me. I understand that the products im trying to sell will probably take me around 150 sales to make up the difference from the 3% Final Value fee not charged. So im wondering (from other sellers) are there enough buyers on Ebid to make this feasable?

I also like the idea of 5 pics, buy now options, store option, and google shopping (which is the search results that come up when you search on google that have an image and three options for that product right?)

Im assuming these options are not available unless you are a seller+ right?

    Please help please and thanks!

Hi - I can only talk from my own experience...

I paid £74.99 for my seller+ (I was a bit slow on the uptake!). I have made that up - but I have an enormous range of products, and over 6500 individual items spread over three stores.

The way I looked at it was that I was paying a vast amount to feebay to not only sell my items (around 10% FVF), and then, on top of that, listing fees too. So I took the chance that I would make the relatively small once off seller+ fee back, and it's paid off for me.

I don't sell nearly as many products as I sell on the other site, but my overall profit is greater, because my fees are a fraction of what I pay there - only 2% FVF, and no listing fee. I'm actually at a point now where I will, in all probability, end all my listing and close my shop on feebay after Christmas. I'm keeping very carefull records for the next few months to see if I'm actually making anything there, or just earning enough to cover the fees.

Google shopping is a key to the success of many sellers here. Many of my customers have come straight in from there, which is an invaluable bonus.

Hope this makes sense, and good luck!

    Andy

But, be warned, Selling here is very different. If you decide to get onboard with the seller+, do your research on these forums, and work at it.

Worth it yes with out a doubt, put don't put all your eggs in one basket as they say if you rely on sales for a living, I was very lucky had buyers follow me over and made my £50 back in the first 2 days,no way as busy as ebay of course and you have to work at it and follow the tips which are laying around on the forums, my sales here have been great I do not sell many high value items but have made a few£££££ , and it keeps me outa mischief, not many sales recently because I have been a bit slack, when I push and promote I get sales.
    Welcome aboard happy selling.

We got our money back in two months just from not having to pay any listing fees. And the FVF is a bargain. If you're planning to give this site an honest try (and some time), I'd say go for it.

I just started 3 months ago and just sold 3 games. It is relatively slower then on greedbay but you need to consider all the factors here. When I first signed up I figured wow only $50 and you get all the benefits that's worth taking a risk all in all. I used to pay greedbay between $115 (which is now since they downgraded me) to about $300-350 when sales were some what blooming. That's a lot of money for just fees. Take the risk and see how it goes. Go with the $50 lifetime and if it doesn't work out know that you can always come back later on when it picks up (hopefully).

Anyways, you'll get 3 stores which is pretty cool; 2 other ppl in your family could put stuff in you store and just use it to promote other things. I love the google advertising to bring ppl in but I would like to know if that is true (ebid should show when a buyer buys something where they came from example google, ebid, ect). The fees compared side by side are unbelievably low - you just can't go wrong.

    @Ravenation

If you have low cost items to sell, it may take you a while to get your investment back on Seller+
But if you are to online selling for the long term, then I think it is worth it.
On ebid you can set up your listings leave them there with no extra work or listing fees. So you can spend time fine tuning them.
Not only that ebid's rules are a lot more seller friendly.
