I've just had a go with the new ALPHA ninjalister_0.99.31.air and, on the first exit and backup, the 'filename is invalid' problem reared it's head again.

Is there another thread that I should be adding any persistant problems to? I wouldn't want to keep listing them here, if there is a specific place that would serve better.

Done. Don't hesitate to contact me, if I have provided the wrong information or file or you need any more info. Cheers, again

P.S. I've added this to my e-mail but thought I should say it on a public forum. I am very impressed with the speed that eBid staff give support. Much faster than certain other (un-nameable - eurgh!) auction sites provide. Minutes as opposed to more than a week!

Attempted to replicate using your 0.99.2 data, still cannot get it to show the error. When exactly is it occuring?

It's the same error I reported here: http://www.ebid.net/forums/showthrea...k-up-file-name but was unable to recreate. Anything other than the precise upgrade > first run > exit process fails to trigger it. I'll have another go at remaking it if I can this arvo, but you have two reports now so at least you know it's a tad consistent.

It sometimes (not every time) throws up an Invalid Filename message when I am exiting and am prompted to choose a file to save to. As I say, it has never failed to perform the save on the second try. Is the fact that you can't replicate the error indicative of some problem with my machine rather than the actual Ninja Lister program? That would be a bit of a pain! Me complaining to you and my PC is the one that's playing up! I don't think it's my PC but, as I'm not particularly expert, I'm not willing to rule out any possibilities.

Just spotted bykimbo's post and (unless we both have the same problem with our PCs) it would appear that there is a glitch in Ninja Lister. Could it be the way we are naming our backup files that the Lister is having problems with (spaces, etc.)?

What operating system are you (and bykimbo, if you're still reading this) using to test Ninja Lister? I have Win XP installed.

As I said, I didn't change the file name at all, either when it worked or when it didn't. I'm on Vista.

I've just uninstalled, reinstalled the previous version, gone the update route and had no problem.

One thing I do know, but can't demonstrate: when the backup failed the default folder first presented to me was the download folder *not* the NinjaLister folder. I had to browse to the NL folder, after which it has come up as default and the error has not recurred. If you can recall if yours did the same, we may have a useful clue.

I went the update route too, I think. I didn't install the brand new version into blank space. When I installed the update, I was prompted to choose if I wanted to overwrite the old version - which I did. Is that what you meant?

When I'm looking for the backup file, I have to find it in the browser. NL doesn't seem to have a folder recall memory, specific to each area (photos, saving, etc.). I can be adding pics and then when I go to save the backup, it takes me directly to the last folder I was using (for example, the folder I store my pics in). That might be why it always works the second time because, after the failed save, the default folder that comes up is the one I have just been in (i.e, the backup file folder).

I hope I'm not misinterpreting what you mean.
