Here is a little tip that certainly worked well for me in the past and which I will be re-applying to all my new eBid listings from now on.....

Haul in those overseas buyers by finding out whatever you are selling means in other languages and include them as effective comma-seperated tags at the foot of all your item descriptions. You can easily do this by using one of those freebie internet translators.

In my case for instance its: Unterkleid. Combinasion. Combinación. Onderkleed. Underplagg. 下着. Indumento intimo. Enagua, etc etc

My blog's stats show that a good number of visitors each day use search engine terms in their own language and those same stats show that they refer directly to my various auction stores.

Go on - it only takes a few minutes and could make extra sales......

It is a super idea. But, be a bit careful of using internet translators - especially Babel Fish: I have had comms from buyers and they bear little resemblance to the Queen's English And I dread to think what they have received from me

Where translators mostly fail is in grammar and sentence construction - they're usually pretty good for single words. Ideal for this sort of task I'd have thought.

I should have mentioned this in my first post - ALWAYS paste your new-found foreign word into Google Images and see what you see. If you see lots of photos of your product, then you know your translation is a good one!

Pitfalls are just for the unwary! lol

Yes, Kimbo, you are right - sentence construction fails only when sending emails; it wouldn't matter with tags.
