Kittens....

Its true at the rip old age of 37; I am a grandmother...

Last Sunday at 0500 having laboured through Saturday evening and having several shows Miss Nibbles had 5 very healthy babies on my feet in our caravan...!

I awoke to find my foot soaking wet, pulled back the quilt and there they were! 4 little ones and one trying to make and exit... Mummy was a bit tired so she had a helping hand from me, within 10 minutes baby was out and being cleaned (I took the sac from round its face as it was struggling).. everything else came away just brilliantly..

All are doing very well, and even though Miss Nibbles is still very much a kitten herself she has taken to motherhood very well.

They are now about a week old and putting on weight very quickly! Mother is slimming down too quick and a local tom is catching mice for her! (i think he may be the prime suspect!)

I'll keep you updated as they grow...

Hi Janey, congratulations grandma! Such little sweeties. Love the little guy that has coloring like a little skunk on the end of the line.

Adorable babies, congrats, nothing like little ones running underfoot to keep their humans busy. Last week my grandsons found a 4 week old kitten in our wood pile, now my baby, Ragamuffin looks like she is nesting, she turns a year old on July 3. Would be cute if she has hers the same day but not sure if she is going to wait until then. I might be joining you in the celebrations of baby kittens soon. Dodie
