    Exclamation Help please again?!

    Lads' Lady's and gentlebugs;

Once again I come to you for your vastly superior knowledge and guidance....

Last week saw my first buyer/bidder... the auction would have ended with a sale but alas the 'reserve' price had been set on initial listing and onl 1p higher than the start price and I couldn't remove it once it was bid on, so I lost a sale and the buyer didn't get her item!

So my question to you is... (not about that I have learnt my lesson there!) what the blazes am I doing wrong? As a test I have imported one of my listings from here, in exactly the same format to ebay, funnily enough it sold there... I don't blinking want to sell there!

Would you mind taking a wander through my shops lifing the items and seeing just what is putting the general populace off me and mine?

    Is it my deoderant?

Oh loving the new layout and colours of the forums! very tactile!

    Janey x

I could not see anything obviously wrong, prices ok, postage good, some of the photo's on the smaller things are abit hard to see. at least with older eyes. took awhile to see the ladybirds on the glass. can't think of anything else.

Why did you set a Reserve price of 1p more? Did you do that by mistake thinking you had done the BIN price?

If you had done the BIN price instead of the Reserve price the auction would have finished with the item being sold to the buyer at their bid.

hmmnnn that means its my deoderant! lol

all noted on the ladybugs... the tongue bars or the earrings?

would free postage be an added incentive to tempt buyers in?

    Thanks in advance Lizzy

hi Tony.. that was on one of my 'first' listings when I was very much learning, this one got through the rejigging gap... don't I know about it now!...

Have been using the bulk edit and some things I have noticed missed out on the update... also the reserve price is set automatically higher than the start price... ALSO I don't want to have anything on a buy it now as I prefer to come near the top of the listings, items on bin don't... therefore, I wouldn't have had a sale at all.

    thanks for the input,

    janey

I think most of us have had the experience of customers wanting to see how much the postage is , then they can ask for discount on multiple items!!

Buy it nows dont automatically go to the bottom of the listing, it all goes on time left( for standard searches) its not advisable to list as run til sold as they never move up the pages, better to go with 7 to 10 day listings with 10 relists( dont forget ebid dont charge you for these!!) that way you items get up to the top of the list frequently. The other advantage of BIN is that they are automatically put onto Google, many of our customers come to us as a result of googling the item they are after.

It was just the little earrings, bit small to see, can you photo abit nearer.
Perhaps offer discount if more than one item bought.
