I think I will give eBid a miss for a few days, my life is complicated enough as it is.
Shame really, I was just about ready to launch into a mass listing campaign. I reckoned they had just about sorted the Ninja and I have a couple of thousand items to list, all new, not imported.

This incarnation of the forums is only temporary, as Gazza has said, the alternative being no forums, until everything is sorted.
He stated the upgrade is because of security reasons, so therefore to protect us as users, at least they are taking members security seriously.
I'm sure they'd rather be working on the site than messing around with the forums.

If you read Gazza's post, there WAS a need.

BUFIX - Our forum software has been upgraded today to a current version that fixes some security flaws that we have been notified of. As you can see there are some drastic changes that we will fine tune in the coming days instead of keeping the forums offline for longer.

I take your point, but this is not just a security update, this is a reface as well. Nothing wrong with taking the opportunity to do it, but having just about got the Ninja Listed sorted over the last three months is it a wise move at this moment?
The forums have, I believe, been one of the areas of eBid that are the envy of many other sites, and any major disruptions would be a fine way to provide ammunition to those that would wish to bring eBid down.
Just my thoughts, we shall have to wait and see.

Yes i have read lots about those who have come unstuck becouse of the forum security issues :/ Everything has security issues....Waste of time tbh & the new forums will be no more secure.

Dont waste time and money with new forums, they will not make the site any better for sellers or buyers...The old forums did fine.

I doubt they got any say in that, it is part of the software update. The forums are a paid for add on, & not developed by eBid

I'm obviously in a minority here, but I like the forums as they are right now. Much clearer, easier to follow. Standardised, I think, as the pages resemble many other forums I use.
