Thread: Brave or silly?

  1. #1

    Default Brave or silly?

Martin Richardson ignored an armed robber's threats to shoot him and flattened him with a chair. He then captured the bandit single handed.

    Story and video here.

This story could have been so different if things had gone wrong.

I take my hat off to the guy.

    Two odd things...

Why is someone 20 years of age sent to a young offenders institution?

Why was he not charged with armed robbery? I understood the use of an imitation gun in the execution of a crime was supposed to be considered the same as using a real gun.

I'd say he was both brave and stupid.

The guy certainly has a lot of bottle but if it was a real gun he wouldn't have stood a chance.

Good questions to which I have no answers.

I hope someone who is more clued up on modern law will be able to oblige.

If he was being threatened with a gun did he think he was going to get shot, could it be his survival instincts came into play.

What we say or think we would do, would we think the same if we was in that actual situation

    I wonder

Very feisty people lately! Barber shop got robbed in Milwaukee yesterday by two punks with real loaded guns. Got money, jewelry, etc. Several customers ran after them, chased one up a tree, he fell, and got badly beaten up and had to be hospitalized. He had loot so it was recovered. Other guy escaped.

Dangerous thing to do just to get your cell phone and watch back!
