In Australia I heard on TV that you have to vote and it was quoted that it can get as high as 95%.
If you do not vote, then you can't shout if you do not like what happens..
Instead , go visit my shops.....
I'm in a bit of a quandry. I've voted Labour since I was old enough to do so. No more. I'd rather cut my throat than vote BNP. Voting SNP is a total waste of time in a General Election - and I don't like that lot anyway! So I'm left with Conservative and Lib Dems. I actually like DC - not so sure about Clegg. If either of the two of them said they were going to REALLY sort out Immigration - like close our borders - and lying, cheating MP's, they'd have my vote in a heartbeat. If I don't vote, I can't moan about who gets in. So what do I do?

On the vote document, there should be a box with "none of the above" and all the crosses against this box should be counted. If that figure is above a certain level, the vote should be void. I bet non voters would then vote. This may be the only way for the parties to realize that most non voters do not vote as they strongly believe that it is pointless as whoever wins the vote is a liar therefore none of what they say will make any difference.

VERY interesting
On the basis of that map UKIP is very close to the Tories so should we all vote for them and give all the major parties a bloody nose

In one sense I don't really mind, what I do want to see is the two party club broken up, where they seem to think it is their divine right for one or the other to be in power.

That's the way the system works. Until you get PR then I would be very surprised to see any deviation from the two party club.
Personally I am not interested in any party's policies this time around. I will be voting to best remove Labour from power - as I consider them the biggest threat the UK faces should they be returned.
The Lib Dems seem more closely aligned with labour policies so, in the event of a hung parliament, a vote for the Lib Dems would benefit Labour.
So I will be voting not for who I would like to see in power but in order to best remove Labour.
