With the fees due to rise on the dark side in the motors section I wonder if more buyers and sellers will be tempted to try ebid for trading cars.
Has anyone had any success buying or selling a car on here?.

It has always been a mystery to me why more people do not sell cars here and why eBid do not make a big thing of it.
You could list and sell a car here using a Featured listing for 1.50 GBP - that's it. As long as it sold within the 60 day life of the Featured listing then no FVFs. Even after that it reverts to a Free listing so still no FVF.
So a 30,000 GBP vehicle sold for 1.50 GBP. What would it cost on eBay to sell using a similar listing format? Anyone want to calculate it?
I've sold a car over there - I seem to recall it was a fixed price of about £6.00 but my memory's not the sharpest. In fact, to prove that point... I've just remembered I've sold *two* cars over there, in fact. Neither were mainstream family cars, both needed to find specialist buyers, and in neither case was I really sure of their value - so listing here wasn't an option for me, much as I prefer to support ebid when possible. If I had something normal in the car line, and new exactly what it was worth, I'd definitely give it a go.
Just has a quick look. A no frills BIN is 8.00 GBP + 35.00 GBP on sale for a 30,000.00 GBP vehicle. So a minimum of 43.00 GBP not allowing for listing extras you get with eBid for free and re-listing fees.
The scrap dealer laughs at me when I ask him to take mine Mel

I'm suprised more people don't use ebid to sell cars or even car parts. My interest is in the older cars and I look at the prices some of the ones that I took down the scrap yard fetch now.
If only I could have hidden a few away in a barn somewhere!
I would have thought it would have been worth a couple of targeted ads on trade sites or papers. Maybe even sniff around GM now they have ditched eBay.
