I don't think its good to mention other sites (other than fbay) on here.

There is PSU which covers many sites, and most other auction sites have their own forums.

What I would like to see is ebid to develop a nickname. (a positive one)

On ebay you often see sellers say they are upset with ebay and ask where else can they go. Ebay does not of course like other auction sites being mentioned. So people say things like try the river, or the moon or the ranch. These are accepted nicknames for three of the top sites. But ebid does not get mentioned on ebay as it does not have a nickname that people can use freely.

Just start one. The blackcurrant, maybe. Or the hammer. Just make something up and start using it.

    Default Freedom of Speech

As my title has said Freedom of Speech. Where on earth does anyone have the right to stop another person airing their views. Laws of decency and libel must be adhered to, but a passing comment or even a descriptive sentence as to how or why you do or dont like a certain item/site/car/dress/etc etc should be allowed.

    Best Regards..........John

I always think that's a red herring. This is not Hyde Park Corner, it's a privately owned commercial web site. Freedom of speech does not apply.

    Great ideas Bykimbo !

You and I could be famous !

I like the hammer, as it is on the ebid logo (as you so cleverly noticed) and its a good auction word of course.
Black currant is OK, but a bit weak, and what if they change the colour ?

If you approve it, and a couple of others do, then I will start posting on feebay's forum (just casually) and see if any of them pick up on it !

I agree, and another reason too. For new people on forums, shhhhhhh, the secret is that the forum discussions get downloaded to google too. A shocker to some who let their thoughts and mouths run! Look up ebid discussions and you will find this forum! A good way to get publicity for your widgets, or a bad way!

Lots of implications here. Yes, someone could look the fool in front of millions of people, and the competitor's names (real names) could get them free advertising as they come up on searches. That is why I make up names for feebay.

We merely use this site, not own it. ebid seems to like to keep it clean, keep it free from outrageous religious and political statements, keep us from fighting too much, keep us from namecalling, and keep members from repeating things that are not true ("no sales on ebid"). This is because the words popping off our keyboards are actually flung into cyberspace within the hour. ebid wants to save us and them a bit of embarrassment.

Hear! Hear! Especially when some views on here can effect others people's businesses.

Tar and brush spring to mind.
