Looking at the way the poll is set, it divides the YES vote between two questions so really it is, at the moment, closer than it appears at first glance.
My posts only state my own opinions, unless I've stolen them from someone else

This is exactly what Im saying. That row occurred within the first few days of my joining Ebid. I had come here with the otherside mentality believing newbies had to fight for the right to speak Fortunately, I then went on to find Ebid a very welcoming place. I am not going to say it wasnt. As I said, I havent been here lately so perhaps things have already changed. I do hope not.

The forums are largely a friendly and welcoming place, and discussion is mostly amicable, with a good shot of down-right ribald. But disagreements and wotnot have *always* gone on.Luckily they're are usually dealt with quickly and decisively. Bet let's not pretend it doesn't happen!

I see no reason to suppose that disagreements of that sort about other selling venues would be dealt with any less firmly than they are now when about ABC or XYZ.
Totally agree and they will always happen, as there are always people with different opinions, in RL and in cyber life as well

I also think that newbies visiting the KT are struck by our "different" mature, but sometime hilarious, posts. We manage to have a good laugh, discuss serious things and help each other out with a suprisingly smooth balance. With the influx of new members I think it best we stay as we are and lead the way on the boards retaining our unique very friendly community

There is a reason our boards continue to be pleasant. And I believe that not "discussing" other venues is part of that.
Could not possibly have said it better (or sweeter) myself.. Got my vote- "no"

I think it should be allowed, but only in a designated area in the forums. That way it doesn't interfere with people needing help.

Ebid advertises other free auction sites so why shouldn't we have a area that we can have discussions about them.

Don't get me wrong i am happy here with ebid & i am not going anywhere.

I don't think it's appropriate, apart from 'social' discussions, threads on selling should surely be pertinent to this site. If people feel the need to discuss other venues then use their forums or else a general discussion site like pheebay.com which caters for a multiplicity of venues.

Don't see what difference it makes, people are gonna argue anyway if they want to. It may be PMT week lol... And there are lots of users here that also use other sites...what kind of business just keeps their eggs all in one basket. But on the otherhand other yonder don't allow posts regarding ebid...so it's a difficult one.

Me personally couldn't care a less if theres a discussion about feebay or fried eggs, if i want to read and post i will, if i dont then i wont. Reporting and deleteing posts like shezz's is a bit immature if thats all she said. So i dont agree with that, she wasn't promoting feebay in that post.

I doubt it would cause anymore arguments than already go on, as long as other sites were not been promoted here. As for the all the 'nastiness' over yonders boards, well, compare the size and amount of members to here...and its a lot more different people, personalities and opinions on the boards over there. I have no doubt as ebid grew to the size of over yonder there would also be a lot more arguments on here too
