Ouch!

Except . . . while I do make mistakes when I create new listings, that wasn't the case here. I used the List Similar, copied and pasted in the changes (title and 3 places in the description), got the new picture, and hit "Preview". I got an error message that I had to enter the weight for domestic shipping. The listing that I copied had Flat Price, somehow it got changed to Calculated. Because it had happened before, I knew enough to browse through the entire preview. That's when I found all the switches had been flipped, so I changed them before I submitted it. It never got listed with the errors, but I discovered the point at which they occurred.

It sounds like the bug is triggered by an error message, whether it's a new one or editing an existing one. And that doesn't explain why the switch got flipped for domestic shipping. I have entered thousands of listings using List Similar and this never happened before.

No one else seems to be having this problem. Interesting that we're both in California. Should we start feeling paranoid? Was there an earthquake that messed up our connections?

Ha. Not earthquakes but just consistent power outages that makes me more vulgar than I already am.

I will be more careful from now on but what I really wanna see is the more convenient editor that changes without reloading the page, and more store options settings for the seller to decide on.

I've managed to recreate the bug when editing in Firefox 3.5. Are any other browsers seeing this problem?

Ive had this problem using firefox.

I mentioned it a while ago.

As stated above, when editing a mistake the page goes to Featured as Default where you had previos;y chosen Gallery.
If not on the ball you will not notice.

It cost me a Quid to find out aswell

I was using FireFox when it happened to me.

Just tried it in Chrome and IE7 and using the same procedure the option is not changed to Featured. Seems to be just Firefox.

I'm sure eBid will refund any fees that were incurred that is down to a system error.

I've now added and reposted about 40 listings, using FireFox, and there were no problems.

I also encountered problems while editing an item.

If there is a mistake in the description, I click edit, rectify the error, and save the fixed listing - but it wont let me as it has deleted the image.

Have to then find or re-upload the image.
