Many thanks to FBNeNotes who understood right away what I was talking about ,even though I threw up a pretty good smoke screen. Problem is fixed now but I don't understand why eBids 'Support" could not have pointed this out in the first place, they lost a client there for a while. I will start promoting my listings again now (BTW this is not bandwidth stealing as one of U suggested its just Marketing" Thanks once again to FBNeNotes and thanks to all that gave positive input. Regards: John
Ok sorry for all the confusion, I did say I had not been here for a long time.
Apparently I had at least 2 accounts and I logged in using the wrong one that’s why you couldn’t find anything about me or what the heck I was talking about. The ID I should have used is "Englishfineart"
My sincerest apologies
Englishfineart has a Lifetime Subscription and we put up a store called “English Fine Art Emporium”
http://us.ebid.net/stores/English-Fine-Art-Emporium
If you look there you will see what I am talking about, listings but no images
Our listings on the site also have no images, along with, I may say many others.
The point being that when we built the store we were not aware that eBid only allows
You to have images for a 60 day maximum.
I wrote to them and asked them why the images were no longer showing (remember I wasn’t aware of the condition)
And this is what I got back>
Hi John
The fee structure has not changed.

23) What is a "Featured Auction" listing?
Featured Auctions are shown at the top of your allocated category and subcategory pages, in their own section above all the free and gallery auctions. They include a thumbnail in the search result and category listing pages. If you opt for "on first bid" or "run until sold" the auction will remain as a featured for 60 days before becoming a normal listing.
Best Wishes

I did not think that this was a satisfactory answer and I wrote to them several times explaining the folly of this condition
Pointing out that it not only ruined my plans for promotion but it was very sort sighted on their part.
This was my final mail from them >
Hi John,
We have passed your comments on to our Managerial team for further assessment.
Please note we are currently working on a complete overhaul of the site, both look and engine which will be completed in the near future.
Best Wishes
eBid Support Team
That’s it, sounded like a kiss-off to me and as I said, I don’t have the time to mess around so I changed my marketing strategy to suit.
However, I received one of their newsletters today and it kicked of my interest in the site again, that’s why I am asking you guys
For your advice and or opinions.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just thought I would throw this out there see what others think .
Anyone else annoyed by the 60 day image in stores rule ?
even more than this, the inability or lack of mechanism to reinstate your images
I took this up with support and got nothing but hiding behind rules.
It’s incredibly unprofessional and self defeating on their part ,its making them and this site
Look like a bunch of amateurs with missing images everywhere now from peoples submissions that have dropped out of the 60 day period.
The site is full of image gaps that’s going to drive away both buyers and sellers in their droves, but they still don’t come up with a solution that we could buy into.
I never expected to make any direct sales through this site by people casually finding my stuff,
however I did think it would be a good point of reference and a place to display
My paintings as an interest driver to my website.
I have stopped promoting that idea and taken down all links to the auctions now from my site and its feeders blogs,
what’s the point of saying “Go look at our stuff in our eBid Store” if there is nothing but an empty box with a title there.
All of my listings are now in a state of disrepair because I don’t have the time to play around with stuff that’s not going to make
me money, those days have gone on the internet, there is so much more work involved in maintaining a presence, wasting it on things like an intransigent eBid isn’t an option for me.
Now I could be all wrong and I have missed some announcement or other that puts this problem to bed, I don’t know, I haven’t come back to eBid for a long time, I am hoping you guys are going to point it out and I will look a fool, however if the problem is still around then I think it’s one that needs addressing . Opinions please, but don’t just suggest putting my stuff into Auction mode it’s not a practical solution when you’re selling high end .
My Best Regards to you all: John
