You will have to make the pc boot from disc

Turn on or restart your computer and watch for a message on the start up screen about a particular key, usually Del or F2, you'll need to press to this key to enter the boot setup. Press this key as soon as you see the message.
A new screen will appear with options as to which device you wish the pc to boot from.
Then set the optical drive (cd/dvd) player as the boot device, restart the pc with the disc in the drive, the pc will then boot from dvd/cd and you should be able to run the fix.

I was told by my PC supplier that with Win7 you can press F8 at start up and it should try to boot from the CD/DVD drive. Haven't tried this myself but saves changing settings, which can cause other problems.

Yeah im not used to Windows 7 , XP here and yes its F8 on XP but you have to set the boot device, it wont automaticly do it itself, not on XP anyway, i just read that it could be the Delete or F2 but F8 if not eh

You just have to make the pc boot from the repair disc that you have created

have downloaded to CD and have booted my lappy from the disc


only it cant seem to find any operating system, all the files are there but when you click into them they are empty still attempting

I think you may have just burnt the files to the disc, im pretty sure you have to burn the files as an ISO image.
