R.I.P. "the voice of rugby".
A genius sports commentator (possibly the best of all time) who managed to capture so eloquently the true drama of sport within the moment - the exhilaration of victory and success tempered against the crushing blow of defeat and failure.
Rugby isn't my number one sport but I remember Bill McLaren's commentary making the hair on the back of my neck stand up even when my team wasn't winning - it was that compelling!
