I am sorry but I beg to differ. I have picked up some good bargains on the wanted section. Some collectable items that I have picked up I have never seen on any auction site at all. Didn't notice that it was not here anymore so I would back up that it should be reinstated again.

Fair enough. That's the first positive post I've ever read about it. ebid certainly considered that it was a waste of effort, so that's why it's gone. Be interesting to see if there's a ground-swell from here.

I don't understand the concept. Is this "wanted" section you're talking about a listing of things a person currently possesses and wants to get rid of, but can't make the effort to mount a fullfledged listing? Possibly on the order of "I have a relative's 50 year accumulation of milk bottle caps, maybe 10,000 of them, and i don't want to scan and describe all of them, but i don't want to throw them away. Interested parties may have them at a bargain." ???

Maybe a better name for the section could be "Unwanted"?

edit: oddly enough, i have had "Wanted" in my forum signature for months. Just now it seems to be out of order. Is that the "Wanted" feature that has been discontinued?

Yes, 'Wanted' is to ask for stuff you want, which maybe another Ebidder has but doesn't think is worth listing. I sold quite a few forgotten treasures that way on the dark side, but never saw anything asked for here that I could offer. But a nice prominent Want button, beside the Buy and Sell buttons, could generate a lot more business than an inconspicuous link

Hi, I have literally sold all kinds of things via the wanted section on the other side and made alot of people happy. They were thinking the items they were looking for were not made any more and (hey presto) there they were stashed in my crafty cupboards not being used, so made a few pennies and a few friends.

I didn't even notice it had disappeared. I don't think many sellers ever took the time to look.

Sort of, but not that you have something you want to give away. Rather you want an item you can't find some where else. i.e. you want a few pounds of junk jewelry for crafts. If someone had something like that, they sent photos, discussed it and set up a deal.

Fact that no one missed it or used it shows how well that feature worked! Maybe came from the old days of ebid when there were not millions of items and it was necessary to ask?
