Will you be watermarking new gallery pictures with the new logo or will they remain blank as they are now?

Thanks Kimbo.
A quick decision would be appreciated. I've got a load of stuff to list but don't want to upload the photos with no watermark and then have to go and change them to watermarked ones in a month's time.

I only have a very basic knowledge of html & coding so I don't know how to do it but, wouldn't it be possible for a transparent frame including the watermark to be placed where the photos go on the site so that any picture uploaded to that frame would automatically display the eBid logo.
This way we wouldn't have to change them with each "upgrade".(Some of mine still have the old blue one!)
Obviously this wouldn't work with self uploaded ones to the description area.
I think the purpose of the watermark is to prevent people from stealing the photo for use on another auction site. If the watermark is not actually a part of the image it would defeat this purpose entirely.
It would be handy to have a 'reload image' button that will allow sellers to re-upload their image for an auction which would then be stamped with the latest watermark without having to edit the whole auction, remove photo and replace with a new one. This could be done from within the seller's image gallery on eBid meaning that editing individual auctions would not even be necessary. Not sure how this would work for auctions that are due to end soon or already have bids, perhaps those auctions would simply not be updated with the new image until/unless they are reposted.
In the long run, if eBid are up to the potential space requirements, it may be possible that the eBid logo watermark is only applied to an image when it is added to an auction, so the images in a user's gallery do not actually contain any watermark. This would make updating the watermark a trivial matter and more under the control of eBid than made the responsibility of the seller.

Yes,quite. But if the picture was behind the watermark it would be part of the image.Perhaps I'm not explaining it well enough, imagine a sheet of glass with a "transparent" eBid logo on it.Place a picture behind that glass, for all intents & purposes that picture now has a watermark on it.
Okay I know that doing a screen shot & editing the watermark out will get rid if someone is that determined but, that applies to any picture.
I suppose I'm thinking along the lines of a flash screen that doesn't have the right click & save facility.Your uploaded picture would show in the screen which has a fixed image of the logo in the bottom corner.
Something like this, the image is slotted into the frame with the logo in the bottom right corner(uploaded)
Once uploaded the picture is viewed with the watermark.
It's not actually added to it but appears as part of it.This logo could then be edited by eBid without us having to do anything.
How difficult it is to put into practice,I don't know?I'll leave that to the expert coders!

The advantage to Bedouins idea is that any right-click copy & savers, will only get the transparent watermark image, not the product image.
(snigger)
I like bluebedouin idea that it cannot be right clicked and saved.
