    Smile hello hello hello

i am new here so hello!!!!
on the process to open the shops but , as i have 100's of items to list , i am going to wait for the new site to be online (just in case..).
for the history, i have been on ebay (why not name it? better know who you are fighting against, really...) since a while and i have been watching whats going on here since few months. i am making the right move. ebid will take a bit more time to take up, but time is the essence of success!
few things that hits me now>
-oh no we dont want the ebay feedbach system to be imported here, but, i did it cause i did earn my feedback over there, its been a hard work so they are mine.
-auction site is all about search and the search window (that "little", very "little" bit of space on the top left hand corner of the home page) is not what we could call a "search window". am i right?
-i do understand that this site needs to attract sellers, but the home page is most uniquelly directed at sellers.its a mistake. it is probably putting off propective buyers. ebid is a buyer site. full stop. or the sellers will go away. am i right?
-advertisement> i am offering to start a vonluntary contribution on uk sunday newspaper to promote ebid. why not lets say £10 each (or £5, or £2 or whatever but enought of that spoon fed stuff) sure we'll reach enought to have a nice , graphically eye hitting banner int the new of the world. time and mail? am i wrong?
i can see, by reading this forum that there is nice people her. i am going to have fun and hopefully make a living.
thank for your time to read me.

    Hi - Welcome aboard

Just two brief points from me -

Advertisement? ... sorry skint, but good luck

Why not mention it? ... posts get picked up elsewhere so we make no mention of the darkside - less publicity for them.

funny enough i dont think that NOT TO name the darkside will make publicity the other side. if you talk about E///y here, well, reference will come back here, no? i might be wrong, but i am working so hard in SEO .....
but , again, i might be wrong...

No offence, but why should ebid members pay for advertising in a newspaper, this company is making profits and should have revenue to advertise themselves

I don't want to pay higher fees just for advertising. Google and word of mouth may be slower but it is working - my last 6 sales were to Newbies. Hopefully now they have found eBid they will browse other shops and buy

Welcome aboard. Whether or not to name eby is a subject that is frequently discussed. I'm in agreement that using the real name would actually give eBid great visibility, but most forum members disagree so I use the disguised version out of politeness. It has also been the case that on rare occasions the owners have popped up and asked us not to name competitor sites... despite displaying advertising from them. It's all very confusing.
