last night 1 item sold, and still no payment now i have to chase it up, it cuts the hassle out, if a buyer want an item paying at the same times no problem. thats why i dont put auction listings or alow other payments on our ebay site,

i understand were your coming from sports all sellers would like to be payed as soon as possible you would think the buyer would want there goods as soon as poss.and therefore pay or at least contact you.

were i dont agree with you is this there is no such thing as immediate payment were ever you sell even if the listing says immediate payment required, you can not compel a buyer to pay immediately paying immediately usualy means being redirected or going to a on line payment provider and clicking yet more buttons to pay you just cant force anyone to do this.

even if the buyer breaks a sites rules or the sellers TCs you can only apply the rules or TCs after the event so its a bit of a misconception about immediate payment, it does not really exsist unless the buyer decideds to immediatly pay

i think if a buyer clicks the buy it now, they should pay straight away,as they must want the item, after all you would not walk into a shop put an item on the counter and then say i will come back in next week and pay for it would you?
its a minute extra to complete the payment, an why should the seller then have to chase it up.
should i sit with the item for a while not earning me. or relist it, then perhaps resell, then if the first buyer pays could cause a bit of hassle as i would have to explain i no longer have this item....

In the great scheme of things, being sweet as candy to buyers works much better/faster/surer than trying to apply tough rules to them. Sure rules make sense to those who love order, but that ain't the real world. World can't be controlled that easily, neither can buyers.

Buyers came here because they liked the sellers and the atmosphere; Personal attention, no bidding wars, no demands, no instant pays, no nasty comments/feedbacks, just nice sellers who encouraged them to have fun and shop.

The best sellers here give buyers time to shop and time to pay. The buyers come back again and again.

given the buyer is on line and ready to buy, how long do you think a seller should sit and wait for payment,
leave there stock sat there b4 listing again, buyers have nothing to lose,i sent 3 reminders to a buyer who wanted an item at the time and they have not replied to any,
but i bet the same buyer would be the 1st to complain if i took my time posting a item after payment,
i have sold over 200 items on ebay this month and got paid intsantly, no hassle. it make life easy,

My T&C's state 7 days for payment or contact, I think this is fair.

I have some sold items that are still not paid for that ended on 01-12-09 yet I know I am going to be paid for these as the buyer has brought from me before and has contacted me as usual stating that they will send a cheque on xx. Because this has happened with a few of my regulars because I am happy with the agreements we have made then they return many times.

If I had shown as immediate payment required then they would not have brought from me in the first place and therefore not returned to me and that would have lost me sales in excess of 200-300 quid.

I have just looked at your hard on the eyes all about page and a listing page, Nowhere do I see any T&C's in relation to payment terms. Now under the DSR's this must be stated.

Also you do not state who will pay for the return postage costings, this is also advised
    http://www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/bus...ral/oft698.pdf page 6
The DSRs say that you must provide consumers with clear
information so that they can make an informed choice about whether
or not they wish to buy from you. In most cases you must also give
consumers the right to a cancellation period.
2.4 The information you give must include details about:
    your business
the goods or services you are selling
    your payment arrangements
    your delivery arrangements, and
consumers’ right to cancel their orders where appropriate.

I always give a week before sending a reminder.Instant payment always puts me off buying. Some people only get to a computer once a week.

People can be offline for a myriad of reasons, since you haven't sent the item yet you haven't made a loss, irritating possibly but why the anxiety?
