Searches and Ebid Items on the web

Works OK for me. 44 results for dichroic glass (37 under 20.00) including 7 from you.

That's odd when I typed dichroic glass into the Google Product search box under £20 I got 3,948 items and no sign of the eBid shops. When I typed dichroic glass & sterling silver under £15 I got 316 items and the eBid shops were there.
How were you doing the search Astral was it in the Google Products search box ?

Google Product Search is very peculiar on what results it returns; I have noticed that before.

In your example dichroic glass returns only 1 matching eBid store but dichroic glass ebid returns 13 matching eBid stores.

It must be the way the Google Product search engine determines matches.

well it does seem that you have to put eBid after the title for it to show up otherwise it don't show up in google searches

That is a pain though because who on earth is going to type in 'dichroic glass ebid' ?! No wonder we don't get many hits !

That's not very helpful if true - if I wanted to know if something was available on eBid I'd enter the site and search here. If I wanted to know where I could get an item from on the internet I would just search for the item on Google - not add the name of all the places I might or might not find it! Nonsensical!

Your items appear in search results when dichroic glass is the search term. It is your store name in the left margin that seems to be the problem. How Google determines which stores to display there is a mystery. It varies depending on which page of results you are looking at. There must be some algorithm used and you are not making it out the other end to appear in the list of stores.

Just to be sure ... don't want to appear stoopid... (easily done for me) Most of my items are auctions with a BIN price. Are these displayed in product search or does the item have to be ONLY Buy it Now?

Don't matter if its just a BIN or bid with BIN. I know is that only the buy it now price is shown on google products.

Call me dumb, I just worked it out, on google products if you put the price in and its a low price then you have to go to the sort by box and change it to lowest first, for example on google products search for 'Nokia 7070 Pink Mobile Phone' and it'll be first but search for 'mini tv remote' and see what page its on

I might email support to see if they can get Google to do anything about it . A slim chance I know but worth a try ! We really do need better exposure !

Adding eBid when you search (yes I know buyers won't do that) shows how many items with those keywords eBid have uploaded.

Adding your username or store name will show how many of your items eBid have uploaded.

How google chooses which items to display first, is probably a closely guarded secret.

How much competition you have plays a big part, also how recently your item was uploaded.

Making your titles & descriptions as (relevantly) keyword rich as possible, can only help.
Any search can only find what is there to be found in the title or description. It doesn't look at the photo & think that's an orange gizmo, so unless the words orange & gizmo are both found somewhere in your title &/or description a search for "orange gizmo" won't find your item.

Try looking for Pin Dish on google shopping.

About 908 results, sorted by relevance, with no other filter (basically as it comes)
12 of the 20 items on the first page are on eBid

Now filter it to under £5.00, 424 results & 15 out of the 20 are.
