Default newbie buyer, wet behind the ears needs help please!

Hi, I've just registered on ebid tonight after finding an absolute bargain on google shopping. I'd beed searching for this particular item for a week and was due to buy a used one of ebay at 7pm but then I found this bargain and went ahead and bought 3 yes 3! I had to get my dad to pay for it via google checkout as I only have a paypal (and the funds were in there not on a card) I had noticed that the seller had no feedback but was registered as a business which is a proper electrical store and has shops aswell as internet sites. Anyway after greedy guts here had done the transaction I started to worry and googled scams on ebid and read an article that states, well basicly the obvious, how long have they been registered, feedback score and look out if the item your buying is much cheaper than anywhere else! So basicly can anyone advise me what to do next, how long to wait for a response or delivery of good's and if not will I get my money back, I have paid via google checkout.

Thanks for reading, I do feel stupid now for jumping straight in, I just need some advise from ebid regulars if possible

I can't answer all your questions. But as a seller on ebay I found that buyers were overprotected to the point that ebay policies were virtually inviting buyers to rip off sellers.
On ebid we have only one ID Muliple IDs are not allowed. Scams and scammers are not welcome here and when identified the ebid members will be on their case in a flash. The forums are a great source of information and well worth searching for answers to your questions.

People on ebid are friendly and helpful.

    Hi

Did your Dad use a credit card on Google Checkout?
If so, you will be covered for losses by the card provider

Debit cards are usually covered. I had an problem when someone attempted steal my card info, and the bank took care of it. So it will depend on who you bank with.
I would give it a few days and sending them an email would also be a good idea. I still look at it this way, we all had to start somewhere and had zero feedback at one point. But as I said, shoot them an email with any questions or concerns you may have and see if they respond.

Your right we do have to start somewhere, I'm just hoping it's a legitimate seller as I couldn't afford to loose this money! Thank's for your responses, Matt

Also, the item is no longer there when you search for it, and the contact details the guy has provided dont bring any matches on the electrol roll. Do you think somehow they could be legitimat or that it's blatently a scam, what do I do?

If you just bought it today, remember it's Sunday. The seller may not check until tomorrow. We all started out with no feedback, and we have a lot of new sellers here, so that doesn't make it a scam. I'd say wait until tomorrow. If the seller hasn't contacted you, or marked the item "shipped" in the AAL, then I would send a message.

If the item was a "Buy It Now" listing, it will disappear as soon as someone buys it. Did you search for the eBid listing number?

What's an "electrol roll"? Haven't heard that term before.

    "electrol roll"?

It is our register of electors - people permitted to vote in national and local elections.
