I haven’t been able to get on the Forums for over a month, after being off work with a poorly shoulder, which gave me plenty of time to push the Site, I was just about to return to work when I had to go for a check up for my Glaucoma, I had already lost the vision in my right eye, due to service injuries and sods law got glaucoma in the other a couple of years ago, forcing me to retire from the service.
Anyway I needed a little proceedure, which unfortunately went wrong, leaving looking like I had been attacked with Mustard Gas.
Anyone who has been in the Forces will know what its like when you test your gas mask with CS, Stinging painful eyes, nose running and drooling like a bulldog, well this was worse and was incessant.
The only thing to do with it was to pad the eye up and try to get drops in it every hour so in effect I was completely blind for 3 weeks.
Well you don’t really think about internet selling when you are busy relearning the route to your own bathroom, (Mrs P will never put the toilet lid down ever again) so I didn’t put a holiday notice up.
After a couple of weeks Mrs P, who is completely Computor phobic, decided to check our Email to see if anything had come from our son, who is serving overseas.
“Oh you have a sale on Ebid, and another, and another” she said.
I stumbled towards the computer, for some reason saying “Let me See, Let Me See.”
21 orders plus one from Eb~y (I still list there to redirect here)
The first thing to do of course was to contact all my buyers to explain my difficulty, Ever tried giving a cut and paste lesson when blindfolded to someone who can just about turn a computer on?
I was strangled twice and I am sure she was flicking the V at me.
All my Ebid Buyers was so nice telling me not to worry about it and they could wait, but over the next 3 days Mrs P managed to invoice, pick, dispatch and everything else involved, She was a real star.
I also got something back from my Eb~y buyer, A NEG, for overcharging on postage. Mrs P typed in 4.2 instead of 2.4.
Anyway I am back now although at present I am looking at my screen with a contraption strapped to my head the size of the Hubble Telescope and I have to type in green as it’s the most visible.
All the Best Paul
