    Default Shipping Amount PayPal Glitch

Newbie here, getting my feet wet ... got my first sale on an item and glad it was a small one because there's a problem with the shipping charge between eBid and PayPal.

The auction and invoice I sent to the buyer stated a shipping charge of $7.50, which was correct. However, when the buyer went to pay, the shipping charge that showed up on PayPal was $5.95 and she couldn't change that to correct it on her end (so I was told), ergo she sent the money but had to underpay the S&H fee.

Obviously this can wind up being a huge problem, so has anyone else out there experienced this, and if so, how can I correct it?

Thanks in advance for your input ...

Sounds like what happened, the PP settings. I do 3/4 of my business in US and never have the postal rates go rogue. Bet that corrects everything. Make the adjustment ASAP.

I think your transaction might remain UNPAID if the whole amount was not paid. Since you have to do a second transaction to make up difference on PP, you might want to refund whole amount and reissue the correct invoice for buyer to pay. That will test out to make sure that the correction you made to PP is working ok and will keep your records straight.

Welcome to ebid. You made your first sale!!! May many more follow.

Thanks so much for the info, I'm sure that was it. I had totally forgotten about that PP setting and when I looked, that option had not been checked so I changed it.

Thanks again, this will save me a LOT of headaches in the future!
