Used to use AVG, and I tried Zone Alarm for a while. They both gave me problems eventually, conflicting with other programmes. Tried Zone Alarm recently and it won't install, but I might try AVG again. Thanks for all the help.

Marriage is a relationship in which one person is always right, and the other is a husband.
I switched to Spyware Terminator when AdAware started charging me. Works OK, but if you get it, don't turn on all the optional features! They're a little too thorough and blocked a lot of safe sites because they didn't recognize some of the software. I turned off everything except the spyware monitor.
I decided to try Spybot, having used it a few years ago. It's installed okay and seems to be working fine.
I try to be careful, as my comp was hacked into a couple of years ago. It was so full of rubbish my hard drive crashed, and it took four days to delete all the hidden files in the workshop. Said he'd never had one so bad.
I was warned to keep all security up to date, but the programmes are so expensive. So now stuck with free ones again.
Any way all seems fine again now, thanks for all the replies.
