How do I handle this?

(FYI I have posted on Autism forums too) Adam was prescribed a Drug 5mg morning and night (To calm him) back in April 09. This was given to him on his return home and (At school See below). Now when he came home about 3-4 weeks later he was quite Bad and ate ate and ate (As its a side effect of the drug) . So we went back to the doc and said Look this does NOT seem to be working all it does is make him eat more. So the doc prescribed Halving the dosage. This was done throughout the summer (And about 6 weeks before the summer too (at school See below) and it was hell! Adam was all over the place and really the worst I have seen him. So back to the docs (A new one) and once again he was back on two doses a day.
It dawned on me last night that when we first left Adam at the school they said they preferred a non drug taking policy and with the old drug (They took him of (With our permission) and we said good luck to them. As I have said Summer was Hell and here we are at Half term and nothing has changed But he is so obviously drugged and so much better for it. Now I think that the school have not been giving him the drug as prescribed!!! so How do I go about investigating this. It really is so obvious!

I was thinking that. I was thinking maybe we should ask the Docs first How long the drug takes to "kick In" As we have to meet with them this week. Then at School (Day after he goes back) ask to see the Admin chart of his drug taking?

Morning Red , I hope I am reading this wrong....it looks like ..YOU gave them permission to stop the drug ???... (They took him of (With our permission) ..then you say you think they were not giving him the drug....am I right in saying ...you told them not too.....sorry if I am wrong but that is how your post looks to me....papa.

i know with josh the school has to ring for permission to give him a paractmol we can't leave a note on file it has to be permission everytime

Reading it wrong........The First drug we told them to Stop this New drug was prescribed back in April!

There has to be a medication chart, anyone who administers drugs in a proffessional capacity has to write down on chart drug given, dosage, time it was given and sign for it, it is what I do at work, and these charts are legal documents and cannot be destroyed, for medication to work it has to be given at a set time every day as prescribed by doctor and the type of medication Adam is on should really kick in within 1 to 2 days, as his body absorbs it and gets used to it he should not be as sedated but still manageable
