Default Curious about how this works

I recently joined (last week) and find it odd that most of my auctions/items listed have not been viewed by anyone. I have great items, have started them very low, and yet after one week no one has even viewed them.

just curious if this seems to be the norm....

Welcome to eBid. It is different from the biggest auction site (which shall remain nameless or in a disguised name, so that web crawlers don't provide it with more hits). There are all kinds of suggestions about how to gain publicity for your listings here in the Forum section. Basically, you will probably need to beat your own drum rather than just sit back and expect buyers to flock to you. One idea I like is to send emails AS NONSPAM APPEARING AS POSSIBLE to previous buyers if you have experience elsewhere. Tell them of your new location.

Your listings look pretty good. One suggestion I have is to include sizes in the apparel listings' titles.

eBid uploads listings to Google Products (I think) several times each month but they must be listings set to run for at least 8 days and have a Buy It Now price. You can have both a Buy It Now and a bid type price on your listings, by the way.

It's late night as i write so can't be super verbose. I strongly urge you to read through many sections of the forum, and you will find ideas. You will find eBid citizens to be very friendly and helpful and with senses of humor.

Could I suggest an email to support as I have just tried to look at your listings (50) but none come up.

The view counter only moves if somebody is sufficiently interested to actually open your listing and I'm sorry, but even specifically going to look for your items I wasn't tempted enough to open them.

4 main reasons and 3 of them boil down to 'making it easy for the potential buyer' -

1 - No gallery photo so there's nothing to catch my eye. There's no upfront fee and only a 2% fvf for a gallery photo so not using one is a false economy.

2 - No sizes on your listings for women's clothes. There's plenty of room left in your auction title for this information. I don't want to have to continually open a listing just to find out that it's not my size. It can also give the impression that if the seller can't be bothered to provide this basic information what else can't they be bothered to do - wrap properly, send the item?

3 - I want to know, upfront, how much it will cost to ship. I don't want the hassle of typing information into a shipping calculator for every item I look at. If the seller can't be bothered to work out the shipping cost why should they expect the buyer to?

4 - Maximise your exposure. Add a buy-it-now price and you'll get free uploads to Google (though without a gallery photo it'll be even more of a waste of time on Google than it is here). Add a gallery photo and your items have the chance to appear on the closing bar in the forums and on the front page.

Sorry if that sounded blunt but them's the facts.

Hi Op welcome to ebid, your stuff looks real good ,shame you don't sell to the U.K, like Texas said you really do need to put the size of the clothing in the title, was a bit annoying going in to every listing or the ones I could be bothered to ,to find out the size put me off a bit.
Also beware of pricing your stuff to low, we dont get many bidding wars so you might be in danger of losing a bit of $$$$.

Also without the buy it now option I don't thik your auctions will be uploaded to google.
Hope that helps a bit good luck

Beat me to it lol and a few other good points
