    That's fine for people that have control over the settings.

    Some ISPs don't give users such control. Their only choice is to use another ISP (which of course they should, but that's not how the real world works, unfortunately).

    Agree.

    Feedback is optional, I only found out there is a setting to switch these emails off by reading this thread. The option to deactivate them could be mentioned in the actual notifications if it's not already, 'required' is too pushy wording, default setting should be not to receive these, let people switch it on if they want.

    Everything to do with the inernet and computers in general should be about empowering users and automating as little as possible, IMO.
