I know it is really not affecting ME. But I am concerned about the world wide passion (greed) for building land.

Dubai is an amazing enterprise. Built on sea level desert and reclaimed land.... Like many other new city areas around the world. Buildings and land making Millions richer. Making homes and workplaces for millions more people.

I am sure Seismic Hazards have been taken into account when building. BUT

What about tsunami type effects from the unstable earth's crust elsewhere in the Gulf and beyond.? What about global rising sea levels ?

Am I being Naive when I say I wouldn't touch this type of real estate with a barge pole even if I had Millions to spend?

As you say could be a problem if sea levels rise, any way far too hot for my liking.

I would't wanna be on that island shaped like a palm tree It's all sand. In a prolonged quake and if the 'harmonics' (some sorta wave?) are right the whole lot will turn to liquid in a heartbeat. Scary stuff!
