  1. #1

    Default advice needed on sale.

    Hi,

Can i have some opinions on something,if you bid and win an item and the seller then does not carry out the transaction for whatever reason. have won some records, and have contacted the seller twice now over about 4 day period and not heard from them. What's the standard time limit on e-bid?
    Thanks

Depends if there is a seller notice on their listings, I normally allow 7-10 days for an invoice after requesting one.

I would also never pay a seller (that I have not dealt with before) until I received an invoice from them

There is no 'time limit'. It is whatever you consider reasonable. I was recently in the same situation and gave the seller 7 days (with 3 invoice requests) in which to contact me after which I declared the transaction void and left negative feedback. I feel I was generous in giving them 7 days as I think a seller should at least make contact within 48 hours. I would expect actual delivery within 7 - 10 days unless notified otherwise.

    Hi,

Thanks for your replies. The auction finished on Saturday and have contacted the person twice and heard nothing. Yes,he may away on holiday but this should have been stated. I will give it another week. cheers

Remember that weekends are not business days and should not be counted as such. If your auction closed on Saturday, the first business day is Monday.

Most the record sellers on here would have posted it monday and would have arrived by now.

Yea, it depends on the seller's schedule. Some only mail once a week but should indicate that in listing. I don't mail the next day as lots of mine are multiples and I have to make sure they are finished shopping. Sometimes it takes a few weeks!

In this case I guess I would check out when they were on line last, make another effort to contact them (check email trash bin just in case), and then just call the whole thing off. Send another email to them telling them they lost a sale.

If they have a shop you can see when they last checked in to their account.

Last feedback can be an indicator as well.

If they are on holiday a notice should be at the top of the listing under seller notes.

Should they be a non-responding seller (you never know what may have happened to them), you should decide when you want to stop waiting. And then leave the appropriate feedback and please let eBid know by sending an email to support.
