Can I just add to this that it is extremely difficult trying to keep an overtired 3 yr old quiet when they wont give in and go to sleep.... as a parent I don't like it either but what is one meant to do in your opinion ?????

    Whiskey.

Either enough to put the kid to sleep or enough for the adult so they don't care any more.

Mr and Mrs Huddy are at an age when they are enjoying their kids and expect them to be boisterous and noisey, and the same with other peoples kids. Thats only to be expected. When he was younger. my own son always had to be the loudest kid in the holiday "gang"(he hasnt changed much now and he's 34) and probably got on peoples nerves. But we enjoyed watching him have a good time. The difference now is that if someone complains about the noise they are given a mouthful of abuse by both the kids (in some cases) and the parents and they just let the kids carry on regardless. Whereas in my day the kids were told to be quieter as they were being a nuisance.

Most of us oldies have been there, got the T Shirt and ear plugs and now want a bit of peace and quiet on holiday. There are places that state 'No Children' or do as we do and go away when the kids are at school. Its cheaper then as well.

Dont get me wrong I still like to hear kids playing and enjoying themselves, but not right in my face. At least 100 yards away is minimum.

Fair enough Fossy, if you don't want to be bothered by 'screaming kids' then you go to an 'adults only' hotel. The hotel we went to last month was a hotel where you had to have a child in your party or you couldnt stay at the hotel. What Papagran is on about is the plane journey to get to the destination. We all have to use that facility to get to the destination we desire. I would never dream of giving anyone a mouthful unless they were rude to me in the first instance. We all live in this world together and we all have to, from time to time, put up with other people (and their screaming, overtired, refusing to give in to sleep kids) for a short space of time! We took a very late flight when we went to majorca and i will never do that again as it was very hard but with all of lucys screaming everyone around i dont recall anyone getting arsey with us !
