Are you able to try it using another browser (you don't say which browser you are using) and see if that makes a difference?

I've had this discussion with eBid before, it seems to be their answer to everything ... try another browser.
But why the heck don't they sort out their systems so they're compatible, other browsers, such as Firefox, cause me terrible problems on other sites.

There is obviously something dunned got broke - they should be sorting it out.

Support and Technical support won't even answer my emails ... guess who that reminds me of ...

But if the OP tries another browser then that can show if it is a browser related problem and give a better idea where to look for the problem next. I am not suggesting that they should change their browser of preference but simply help others to help them by doing a bit of investigation.

As it would appear the OP could list before and now suddenly can't I would suspect that a change on their system is more likely.

If eBid only had to cope with the various browsers then that would make life easier. However, they also have to cope with the various add-ons that people run in their browsers and the various states of update of users' systems.

Getting software to run across all platforms and configurations is no easy task.

EBid have been aware of this problem on and off since April - from what I can see on the other threads anyway.
Shouldn't it be their responsibilty to test what works with what, not ours, we're just users of the site.

I was told by support earlier on in the week to upload IE8 - yet the threads relating to this problem from April and June suggested that was one of the causes of incompatiblilty, whenI mentioned this I was told I was wrong???

    It seems you can't win.

And since I've been waiting since Sunday for technical support to contact me, you'll excuse if my patience with them has worn somewhat on the thin side.

As Astral has said more is involved than just the browser, other variables include operating systems, add ons, firewalls & spyware protection.

I'm running XP Pro, I have 4 browsers, Safari, Firefox, Google Chrome & IE6, I keep IE6 for testing purposes mainly, any upgrade to 7 or 8 would defeat the purpose for me.

I can & do list & post on eBid using all 4 of these browsers with no problem at all.

Yet for me feebay is almost unusable with IE6 or Chrome, the pages half-load then freeze, or go blank & never load. Safari works fastest there but the pagewidths are crazy so I have to use sideways scrolling, overall firefox is best although extremely slow.

Yet my sister Wizbooks has no problems using feebay with firefox (or IE7), using XP pro.

So going by that, the problem is not the operating system, or the browser, but something on my machine that is not on hers, or vice versa. If I could be bothered I might try & track it down, but to be honest I cannot be.

I know at least one more person who has the same problems as me, the only thing I know we both have in common, & my sister doesn't, is we both have Cable Broadband.

I'm on IE6 and never had this problem on here before. Although I have had other problems, initially been told to switch to Firefox or something else but then without doing that the problem has been sorted at eBid's end.

The bottom line is though, I can't list.
Support is giving me contradictory information as to what is on the sticky threads and technical support haven't even got back to me. That's typical eBay behaviour.
And eBid aren't going to find out what's happening unless they know exactly what I'm seeing on screen and can ask questions - yet they are just ignoring it and telling me to switch browsers to see if it helps.
That's the bit which is getting to me.

I have switched back and forth with the defaults vq5 and it hasn't helped.
What does happen though, is when the screen is loading in either advance or simple, you initially get the description box, it's just when it is fully loaded you get the error symbol and that area is blank.
Ebid won't know this though ... because they haven't got back to me!

Have you tried sending them screenshots or screenvid showing the problem? The following post by Gazza explains how.
