He was truly a legend. Fantastic player, and also very creative.
For those of you who don't know him, he invented the modern electric guitar, which was marketed by Gibson. I also know he developed the technique of layering sound, so he and his wife Mary Ford made records where she harmonized with herself. Modern music (not just Rock and Roll) owes a lot to him.

He was Wisconsin born and invented the bass guitar too. Was in his 90s and still performing!
