Used to do genealogy and sure appreciated pictures, even of those that ended up dovorced. When a 100 years has passed, still a picture of a direct set of ancestors. Great to scan for records.

Saved the ones that had my family members..parents (who are now passed on), my sisters, cousins, etc. The ones with the ex..gave them to my kids.
That was my first thought too, once they are gone, and someone tries to research the family, ya can't get them back. I would save some, give some to others too. Consider that weddings are about only time family gets together for photos and you might have some ral gems others do not have. We found many photos of my aunt's 1955 wedding of the grandparents of friends which we passed on to the grandkids. They had never seen them, so were a treasure.
What to do with the rest? Sell them. In US they are hot items at auctions right now, especially if you have the whole photo album and time has passed (1930s etc). Some people collect only bridal pictures so there is lots of bidding when some really nice pictures come up for sale. Never destroy, sell 'em.
