Thread: Do you check with admin?

  1. #1

Question Do you check with admin?

Hello. I know everyone has good intentions but do you check with admin before you do your promotions? I run everything past them first. They are busy guys but always get back to you in a timely fashion. I've heard a bird singing in the wind that there soon could be a whole bunch of sellers gone. Just a word of advice. Lots of clever people out there but it would suck if you were barred from the site. I recently have been jumped on for pointing a few things out. Admin are smart people. You can not fool those guys.

New google gadgets built and I even have google hosting a whole page just for me! Also in main category but if you type in a select word you can find them also. "Sell online for free" has another one I built today as well.

Here's a page google is hosting for me. Can not beat that!

Nope, can not say. Just reminding people they should have everything cleared by admin. If you have the green light then put the hammer down!

ahh...I see. I really don't run any promotions.. I try to keep things as cheap as possible. I guess we shall see in time who goes and who stays.

My promotions do not cost money but lots of time. I have lots of that lately. If it helps bring people to eBid then it's good. I have spent money in the past though. Learning more computer skills is fun for me.

I like learning more skills, especially html code, when I have the time. I run the 4 stores on here and my own website which I am revamping at the moment. Free time is what I have very little of these days.

OK, So if you ask Admin if you can promote with a Google Gadget and they say yes. Then you tell your associates on the boards that this is a wonderful new tool. I would guess that if it is OK for you then it should be OK for everyone.

    BUT
I get the impression from this post that may not be the case. I have a lot of different scenarios running through my head, maybe I just need a little more clarification or information to fully understand your post. Not about Sellers being banned but what you have learned from eBid about allowable marketing strategy for Sellers.

Feel free to PM or AM for that matter.
I have new listings! Check them out!

Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.
Fed up with paying to sell?

Must mean you are selling lots so that is good. I have alot of projects on the go also. Lately I'm into web hosting. (that's a big bag of tricks there) Learning xml was a little challenging for my old brain. Once you get it though it's a breeze. Need to drop in once in awhile here so any buyers know that I'm active and not a "deadwood" seller.

Hello. I built my gadget and then showed ebid. I've built others now also. If they do not direct to ebid then their name or logo is nowhere to be seen. As stated if you have a marketing strategy then run it by them first before going full bore with it. They want the site to grow as well. People have lots of good idea's but they might see it differently.
Better to be safe than sorry.

Okay? It might just be me, but I'm a bit confused by this post. What precisely did the OP say?

I got something like a threat that admin is planning to ban a bunch of sellers. I've been mentioning eBid on Facebook, MySpace and even in my blogs. Also mentioned eBid to members of groups to which I belong. If this violates some rule, I need to know before I go wearing my eBid shirts and hat around.

Canuckbid, are you speaking for eBid administration or just passing on things you heard? Did they come out with an announcement that all seller's promos must be cleared by them.

What precisely is this "ubuywarehouse" thingy? How is it connected to eBid? I didn't think that we were permitted to promote other ecommerce sites on the forums but I may be mistaken. Does anyone know for sure?

    Dennis

Edit...Oh! I see. ubuywarehouse is one of your stores here on eBid. Now I'm really confused. What did you make that you got eBid to approve?
I'm afraid I'm totally lost now.

Maybe I need to just stick to slamming my hammer down on the high bidder and forget this online stuff. Probably better off just publishing an online auction catalog for upcoming live auctions. Hummm.....
