For each store you have, you can create your own parent categories (up to 30) and 15 sub categories within each parent category. You can call them whatever you like.

Let's say all you will sell are movies and movie related items..then the store category would be one that falls under movies...

    that is the store category
from there you begin adding to that store and you will need to select your 'parent categories'...such as Movie & DVD..then the sub: Blu Ray, HD, DVD, Reel, VHS...

and finally what I'm calling 'off shoots'

    for example:

    Clint Eastwood

    Or something like you suggested:

    Movies under $5
    Movies under $1
so does that mean the store has ONE category? coz if I sold movies mostly, would I not be able to add a toaster to that store?

You can put whatever you like in your stores but from the buyer point of view it's best to try and group similar items together. I don't think people would be looking for a toaster in a movie store but but then again they might want to eat toast while they watch a movie !

Why not chose 4 main category stores for the things that you deal in most and use the 5th store for odds and ends like I've done.
