Nice pictures of Milton lock Frank. Back in the 70's when I was doing a College course I did a project on the Canal tracing its origins and route from Landport through to the Chichester Canal Basin, complete with maps. I did try looking for it a few years ago, but it must have got thrown out in a move somewhere. Of course anyone travelling into Portsmouth by train will actually travel along part of the old canal route between Fratton and Portsmouth Stations.
The last time I visited the lock and the Thatched House, the lock was full of shopping trolleys etc. I hope its a bit cleaner these days.
