Hope you like it up here, Wizbooks, you didn't happen to move to Wigtown with your bookshop, did you? If not, we could always get together and have an eBid store just to equal out the inequalities between here and Stranraer with their e**y store! Wonder how it's doing? Methinks I need a trip to Stranraer sometime soon.
Any Stranraer-based eBidders? Come to think of it, any more voters? I'm still at least 10 short.

    We love it here
Sorry not that close to you, we visited the bookshops in Wigtown before we moved up here. Don't have a brick and mortar bookshop although I would love one, our nearest is in Sanquhar.

Red face Oops! I did it again

I'm going to start walking around with a slipper in my mouth so at least when I constantly put my foot in it it'll be more comfortable

Before anyone north of the border comes down south to personally deliver me a Glasgow Kiss I would like to unreservedly apologise for the sweeping generalisations and ridiculous stereotypes to be found within my previous post.

There is absolutely no truth to the rumour that all Scottish people have red hair and freckles. Nor do they spend all day drinking and fighting. And it certainly isn't true it's easier to get blood out of a stone than £1 out of a Scotsman.

I am also aware of the many literary greats, political giants, genius inventors, social reformists and stars of stage and screen to hail from that great nation . Robert Burns, Alexander Graham Bell and The Krankies to name but a few.

But, it is perhaps speccy pop duo The Proclaimers who most capture the public's imagination as the "Sound of Scotland".

To this end, in the ultimate tribute to Scotland, I have decided to reword the first 2 verses and the chorus of perhaps their most famous hit "500 miles" and use this as my victory song.

And my reworked version (hopefully it'll be in the shops for Christmas ):

When she wakes up 'Now You Know' is gonna be
Is gonna be obsessed with checking the vote count
When she goes out 'Now You Know' is gonna be
Is gonna be wondering how to raise the count amount

If she gets drunk 'Now You Know' is gonna be
Is gonna be ordering a stiff one 'for the road'
'Cos when she loses 'Now You Know' is gonna face
Is gonna face the taunts of triumphant Hypnotoad

But she would spam 500 threads
And she would spam 500 more
Just to be NYK who spammed 1000 threads
And still failed to reach her target score

    Cool Go get 'im Jimbo!

Yeah! You go get 'im, Jimbo! But do you know where you're going???

His store suggests he's a 'brummie', so the citylink Belfast to London passes through that way, just look in Toad Hall or the Christmas Cabin whilst I research the surrounding area for suitable holes into which he could possibly crawl when he's lost his thirty quid.

OH MY, OH MY, OH MY!!! ROFL... WHAT HAVE WE HERE?
This SURELY CANNOT be the name of a place. NO WAY!! Back soon, this CERTAINLY warrants further investigation!!

Edited in: Jimbo, I'll PM you the name of this place because it is NO WONDER the poor 'Toadie' knows so little about us northerners. No self-respecting Scot would EVER live in a place called Sare..... oh!! I almost said it!!

I guess Tolkein wasn't to know any better, he couldn't have met many Scots between South Africa and err... that place. I've never even read Lord of the Rings!

Thumbs down Oi! Stop denigrating my Sarehole!

When you've quite finished Rob Roy and Mary Queen of Scots I'll have you know my Sarehole is very picturesque and attracts many visitors from all over the country. So stick that on your caber and go toss it

Now You Know my location to within a 5 mile radius Jimbo you're still going to have to buy something from me to track me down further. I'll settle for a broken nose to make a sale....providing you pay with Google Checkout to help ease the pain

I have now sent out an appeal for the delightful Reid brothers to visit eBid and VOTE IN MY POLL If there are 2 new sign-ups and 2 votes in quick succession, they're gonna be the one's we've all been waiting for!

PS: I have not been denigrating your lovely Brummy S.. S... S.... Sarehole <cringe> I merely hinted that it was an unfortunate name from the point of pronunciation by a Scot and then proceeded to point out the location's importance with regards to it's literary connections. I am sure this is a simple misunderstanding of the pronunciation of the name of this particular area, combined with my unusually childish sense of humour that makes one find it utterly, gut-wrenchingly, tear-jerkingly hysterical that the great JRR Tolkein could flit tae Sarehole and pen a book such as 'Lord of the Rings'. Please accept my humblest apologies for my juvenile behaviour. I meant no offence

And for my next trick... watch this space... down a bit....
