Far too expensive and sevice has a lot to be desired,

I have been listing items on ebid since the site started. In the early days i sold about 10% on ebid. 15% on Yahoo auctions and the rest on ebay.

Over the years i have come back to ebid and have sold the odd item.
A couple of weeks ago i posted 5 items on ebid to see how the site is going. I did not expect to sell much, but no one has even looked at any of my items in a week. This is sad, but it seems that buyers just wont buy off ebid.

Most of the people who post on ebay dont like the site or the customer service, yet they stick with it, but if you suggest ebid they dont want to know.

Personaly i think that the ebid is a better site, its UK and deserves better. I take my hat off to the guys that run it. Beats me why people dont use it, just so sad............Holybuseb

Hello all, Thought i should make myself known in here if only to say Hi and that I like you feel eBid is the better alternative to feeBay and it could be somthing special.

I to have been converted to eBid but i must agree about the lack of activity here. I think more must be done to promote the site. I must say the eBid merchandise could be a great way to market this site but as far as i can tell the only way to get your hand on them is thriugh buddy auctions. By doing this G&M are targeting the wrong audiance.

All that aside great site guys keep it up Regards Danny

I thought it was time I gave Gazza a Mark a bit of praise ......
eBid has some great features that are either not available or not free on at least 'one other' auction site. Don't shoot me down in flames for any I get wrong, but these are the features that I know of that are superior to the competition:

FREE standard listing
Set the auction length - any time you like between 3 and 90 days
Only 5p maximum listing fee for thumbnail image
default auction template
integrated checkout for seller+ for google checkout, pppay and paypal
cheap featured front page auctions
Buddy points and buddy point auctions
Good aucion patrolling - not awash with fakes and quick action taking for any auctions reported.
For seller+ up to 5 stores with no extra charges
Video links to YouTube movies - so you can promote your items more
products linked into google base
Good range of categories
Proper replies to support queries - not just standard templates
Friendly, helpful forum


Please feel free to add more that I have not thought of.............

To add to that -
- a very handy export listings function. (E*y only has this partially)
- those members who've been around for some time will have seen how G & M actually take time to listen and have implemented many members suggestions to improve the site.
