Need a little help here!

Hi Peeps...
Can anybody help me out with this item?...it appears to be small pill/trinket boxes....test as silver but unmarked so probs silver plated....the tops are ceramic...the box that they are in measures 5" diameter...and they are made in China.

I'm not asking what are they worth....just a name for it...if there is a name for this sort of thing....what could it's use be etc....

Otherwise these will go on auction as 'Thingies'....not very professional is it :-)

..Thanks to both of you for replying....I feel awful now....it really can't be anything special...my daughter picked it up at a car boot sale a few months ago..it's probably some tacky souvenir :-)....I just dunno what to call it.....

I'm afraid I haven't got a clue what's in the piccie either but, like OnlyTheVeryBest, I think it's a really nice item and would love to know more about it. Perhaps Kedo might know, will point him this direction.
