    Agree with all the above [I'm also an ex-librarian for my sins!]

    And then you get given boxes of books to either read/dispose of because your in-laws are moving to a smaller house/your elderly parents have decided it's time to start having a clear out to save us time when the inevitable happens ............

    I have floor to ceiling bookshelves in the dining room; bookshelves in every bedroom and boxes stashed under the dining table [the dining room is also my office]; hubby has a floor to ceiling bookshelf by his armchair in the sitting room + a pile of books around said armchair at any given time...........

    Help!
