If it were me I'd link to all 4 of your shops in each listing.

Had a look at your auctions. I have to say you have fantastic photographs - clear, bright and cheerful. Not all your auctions have a lot of description, but I noticed that where there is description, it's very specific details. So maybe that's the secret??

Like this one for eg. http://uk.four.ebid.net/perl/auction...5-0&mo=auction

    I can learn from this!

Partly what I sell (hundreds of items with place names, subject names, product names, car names etc. that can be picked up by search engines). Partly a finicky way of listing which seems to make more likely that they are picked up. Read back on the thread and you'll see.

To be honest, I thought the spate of sales had ended then another one came in tonight (new buyer again).

Someone's on a roll! Nice to see posts about successful sellers rather than the usual "nothing sells here" posts.

Well I used to be a 'professional' describer in a previous life and I guess old habits die hard. Strangely enough you picked on an example auction that has a substandard scan. I had a bit of a technical problem which means I'm having to renew most of my pictures. If you think that one looks good it's something of a relief. For new pictures check the last four shops in my sig, for specific examples that I'm pleased with check the vintage camera section (what's the secret for good photo's? A light tent I think!)

Well, I thought that one was a good photo, but this is even better!

I also like the pic of the large ichtisaur vertebra - excellent detail on the photo. Maybe you should consider marking your photos coz I just had some Eb*y powerseller nick one of my photos for their Eb*y listings today. I'm now thinking of watermarking my photos when I have the time.

What's a light tent by the way?

It's a sort of cube of white translucent material with a wire frame. You put your auction item inside it and some special photographic lighting outside. The material 'spreads out' the light as it passes through, plus it bounces around inside the cube. It just means you get good lighting without strong shadows. You can get the whole setup including lights for relatively little cost.

A white sheet draped over a couple of chairs will serve as a substitute.
