They do stick ads on the page though so, you aren't really getting it for free. If you really want to look professional having random ads plastered around doesn't look good.

Who are you talking about, Ken?

The only "advert" I saw via Bravenet is where is says "Bravenet Web Services - Free Redirection" in the Tab title. There was nothing else on mine.

The problem with URL shorteners is the output is almost impossible to remember, so it only works as a clickable link. Of course if the user is sat in front of a clickable link, then it might just as well be the full link to the site rather than the short version.

Short URLs also look naff if they're printed on anything, too.

    jgmcarmods,
I can't find your Ebid price chart anywhere. I'm hoping to put it up on the EBid MySpace Group Page as a sticky as we can't seem to put it up as a sticky here.

If there is a big demand for it Ill set up a free shorturl on something like www.ebidshop.com

and the short url would be ebidshop.com/mystore

    no need for www.
What are you saying, that everybody uses the same link or that the link is personalised?

I'm totally lost with all these shortened URLs - why not just have a domain name the same as your store name and your own webpage linked to your eBid store? No adverts, no pop ups and a top level domain name that can be included in all your advertising, free linked from other sites and submitted to the search engines.

    Just love that Merlin, LOL

I use 123-reg, and have used freewebs and have not had a problem with them but for sure godaddy is the best, I have currently around 28 domains with them and the offers just keep coming, they also give a free starter page with each domain, they really are good.

This weekend only! All our most popular products are on sale -- domain names, Web site builders, hosting, email accounts, and more. Just order at least £38 between now and Sunday, 8 June and we'll take 20% off the price!*
This was an email I received today from godaddy, their prices really are very good if not the best even before these discounts.
Then you can sell your domains here on ebid at a profit, if only it was that simple.
