I don't think it's whether sales here are slow or not, it's giving them away to non eBid users from sales elsewhere to entice them to come and have a look here. Sending them to existing eBid buyers seems like 'carrying coals to Newcastle'

It's also about getting people to come back time and again after they have made their first visit or purchase on the site. If giving them a pen is all it takes to make them choose this site instead of going back to Feepay, then I reckon it's worth it, don't you?

You only need to check back the posts in this thread to see that we haven't enough interest. Allowing for the fact that to get the pens at 10p each, the order needs to be 2000, and those involved in this thread account for only about 500. Only a quarter of the way there I'm afraid.

Well, maybe we'll just try to keep this bumped - £5 for 50 pens or £10 for hundred - who's in? If you're not in, can you give some feedback as to what would convince you to pay for EBid merchandise?

1. Is because you don't want items with just the Ebid logo on it? Would you prefer to be able to customize the pen so that your store is displayed?
2. Would you prefer some other item and not pens?
3. Is £5 too much?
4. Are you waiting for the Ebid management to come up with the merchandise?
5. Any other reason?

Since we are trying to get the site promoted which is in the best interest of all of us, a generic rather than individual stores would probably work best. After all if someone doesn't want another painting, they may not visit my store again but if they wanted something else they may visit for eBid and that is what we need. I'm in for a £5 worth

I think you'll find that's it's more than 3. I count at least 5. Still not enough, I know. But it's better than 3.
