No Bluebedouin, I hadn't seen your posting about buddy links; I have been off-line for 3 weeks or so with a computer virus. I am in the process of re-writing my auction templates, so will include it in there. Thanks for the tip.

As regards the merchandise, there was no mention of it being put up for sale in the future. This is a bit off-putting, I want to promote eBid but am not allowed to. I think if we have stuff like this available it should be open to anyone who wants it. The more people who have the merchandise the better - it is all good publicity.

That is frustrating - I have enough buddy points, but I want to save them for something big on the buddy points auctions. Did they say they may sell them in the future, or will they always be buddy points only?

I'm fairly sure they said they will be available to buy later but I can't find the thread.

It says, "at the moment", so I'd read it as meaning the merchandise will be made available for sale as well as in exchange for buddy points in the future, but see what you think.

I asked about buying an eBid mouse mat earlier today; and was told they are only availble through trading in buddy points. The problem is that I have the massive amount of 1.4 points at the moment. So it looks as if I will have to find a mouse mat elsewhere and not promote eBid as I had intended to. Shame really, because I work in an office with 30-40 people who won't see my ebid mouse mat on my desk.

After all the whinging about lack of eBid merchandise I am surprised at how few people are jostling to lay their hands on the official gear. We now have Tee shirts, baseball caps, window stickers, tax disc holders, mousemats, mugs, pens... all great extras for pressies, and very apt gifts to be given by the eBid addicts amongst us, and yet some people don't want to part with their (free) buddy points. I wonder if there will be more interest if/when it's available for sale? Or why not go get a few new sign-ups and then transfer your buddy points into merchandise? What if eBid decide to do away with the buddy points system and just award merchandise instead??

Alternative suggestion - we need to be able to gather more buddy points, how about local level recruitment drives?

If you don't have enough points then I'll get one on your behalf and include it with your next NYK purchase, how's that?

I think it would be better if peeps could make part payment with cash if they wanted to. Not everyone has sufficient buddy points.
