Default How to advertise on Feebay that Ebid's Here

Two idea have so far come to life.

The first is a risky thing..Change your Feebay user name..
I've changed mine to getovertoebiddotcodotuk And Not had any problem with it so far (near 3 weeks)

The second is to put it on your about me page on Feebay
see http://members.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISA...ebiddotcodotuk for example (Thanks to QCpots) Feebay don't seem to take any notice.

It is risky But hell to it I am closing down Feebay slowly and only going to list there when Special days (5p listing etc).

If you've forgotten how to do it. Just go to your personnal Information page and you will find the links to change user name and your about me page there.

Red, I don't think you should risk your feebay membership. It's too useful. You were saying a little while back that you're getting a sale a day here. If that's the case you're getting something right. How much of your trade here is coming from feebay?

There are lots of ways to push traffic to your ebid shop without risking you feebay membership. Here's one I haven't heard anyone mention. I'd recommend making your feebay listings ambiguous in some way, that's to say leave out important details, be a little unclear etc. The idea is to get the potential buyer to contact you. Once they contact you it's easy. Be an efficient parasite, don't let the host notice you!

I've taken what I consider to be a 'safer' option. I've put a link on my 'AboutME' feebay page to a 'neutral' web-site that I own (ie. not feebay or ebid). Then on the 'neutral' web-site, I've got a link to my eBid 'Store'. Doing it this way makes it harder for feebay to object!

Next step is to email all my old feebay Customers a one-off message telling them that I've moved over here!

Yes, I do that too. I think that QCPots also has an AboutMe page on Feebay which is worth checking out.

While these are good ideas, they are old ideas. I'm not criticising, in fact nykmedia is just sorting out a one page web site for me to take traffic from my 'AboutME' page and direct it to my Ebid stores (bargain price incidentally). I think we need to come up with some new strategies!

Well take every opportunity at the moment to mention SS2BM as that is a campaign that is promoting alternatives to ebay and starts today. There is already a lot of publicity on it, so make the most of it.

They're old ideas, but you'd be surprised how many sellers have not bothered to implement them. Also, for the benefit of new members, it can be good to keep repeating old ideas as well as the new ones.

I'm not disagreeing, it's taken me ten months to get around to it. I'm only doing it now because nykmedia has made it easy and painless. If I'd had to go and revise up my html and do it myself it would probably have taken another year. Still haven't contacted any of my feebay customers though. The vast majority of my sales are 'native' Ebid sales.

Maybe we should compile a guide to strategy for new sellers!

Anyway what about new ideas? Does nobody see any potential in what I'm suggesting? Personally I've found it very easy to push people over to Ebid once I've established contact with them.
