Getting Ebid Noticed.

Talking about getting Ebid noticed :-)
I just joined a random group of 'Ebay Joolies'...they sell jewellery on Ebay....so I joined and asked if any of them had heard of...or tried....or even looked at Ebid...WHERE IT'S FREE TO SELL!!!

They didn't get back to me :-(

That's definitely a promotion worth joining. I've signed up, but I've only seen a handful of other Ebidders signing up so far. Hopefully more will sign up soon as the promotion starts on the 21st of June.

What's made me reluctant is the requirement that you join & list on another "St Elsewhere" as well. Appart from anything else, I just don't know if I'll have time. I've a lot going on in RL over that period, which MUST take priority.

I can not use it myself at the moment, but if it benefits a few. But ifonly a few can use it to get Ebid out there, that will something.

I think it's a request to list somewhere else not a requirement. The reasoning being is they are trying to present buyers with a wide a choice as possible wherever they look on a St Elsewhere site. In the long term it will be in all our interests to make alternatives viable to break the domination of ebay. It would be a false hope to think that eBid can do it alone, but if we all work together, which is what this campaign is all about then it may make the difference.

I appreciate it will be some extra work, but wouldn't it be worth it to break the ebay domination.

You are right, st elsewhere is not a site, only a term that get used, bit like using anagrams?. Am I right?.

Yes you are right trinaisaac St Elsewhere was a phrase that came into being to refer to alternative sites when talking on the eBay forums as posts mentioneing eBid usually got pulled.

Hi Ken,
I understand the aims, & I support the idea, BUT timewise, (other than over christmas) it couldn't be worse for me.

I do still have to work, & much as I'd like to ignore Real Life at times,I've found to my cost already it doesn't ignore me.

They are talking about running the Summer Soltice event earlier in June next year, finishing on the 21st which would make it easier.
