Thread: Discount preferences for checkout

  1. #1

    Default Discount preferences for checkout

    Hello,

I was wondering if it was possible (in future) to incorporate a function in checkout whereby sellers can pre-set a certain fixed percentage or value they want taken off the buyer's bill. This would be a very useful function if sellers want to offer discounts. The discounts would then be automatically calculated upon the buyer's checkout.

If not, just an ability to show a discount message or any other message to buyers upon checkout would be useful.

    Thanks for reading

You can set your postage rate with discounts on the other side. I have mine set with 50p discount for each subsequent item bought

There's a problem with postage discounts on E**y. I used to set mine with 50p discount for each subsequent item bought, but it applies that same 50p discount across the board, for international postage as well. It only works if you sell multiple similar items within the same listing.

And what I meant was not just combined postage discounts for EBid. I'd like to be able to set simple discounts like - 10% off, or more "sophisticated" ones like " Orders above £40 get free postage or Buy One Get One Free Discounts and so on.

Have to agree; that would be great if it was possible.

Don't know if it would be more trouble than it was worth for the boys, though.

Sorry, don't know what came over me there. Obviously, it would be really simple for such omnipotent beings as Gazza and Mark.

    Hi,
I'm new to this site, so I havent worked everything out yet.
The way I got round this on the B'y site was to offer a discount as a refund.
Through Paypal this is quite easy.
This does mean the buyer would have to stump up the full amount first.
As for the Postage discount, it was the sellers choice as to which items were included.
Any other discounts could be shown in
the auction and applied to the invoice.
    Regards Ron.

    Unhappy

I find that the USA postage costs need to be taken out of the international spot, I am from Canada and it is much less expensive to ship to USA than to say England

I cant at this time separate them so I have to type in my discription about the different costs for shipping between USA and International
and if customers dont see that then they see the international rates and wont buy as shipping too expensive

Also I tried to email ebid and they say my email address is incorrect , well I have had this email address for 10 years or more so what can I do ?????

    thanks
a canuck who loves bull terriers
