Unhappy New User / Motherboard Help Please

    Hello to all,
I'm new here @ eBid & so far I'm really enjoying it. All users seem to be very friendly & helpful. Now, here's my problem. I have an eMachines T3304 Desktop PC. My motherboard just died & I need to replace it a.s.a.p. I know that eMachines has a replacement board, but I need one that's a little cheaper than theirs. I've talked to eMachines Tech Support & they said that I have to replace my MoBo with the exact same Model # or my Windows XP OS & System Restore Cd won't work. So, I'm hoping that someone may be able to help me locate one somewhere. I have found a few different ones on the internet, but they're replacement boards & not the original ones. My motherboard model # is an FIC K8MC51G. Any help will be Greatly appreciated. Thank You !

Have you tried a company called www.Crucial .com/uk tel 08000130330 sorry dont have an address but I used them to update the ram on my computor all the experts!!!said it could not be done but they supplied exactly the right parts and clear fitting instructions did it myself.
If you have access to the web their site will give you options of parts you want by just feeding in your comptor details.

    Hope this helps

    Hello again all,
Thank you so much for trying to help me Bearsden06. I was able to access the crucial.com site. They had lots of different upgrades for my T3304, but they do not have any motherboards. So, I'm still trying to find one that will work if you or anyone else comes across anything. F.Y.I. , I might also be interested in maybe buying a used eMachines T3304, if the price is right. There are other eMachines models that also have the same motherboard that I could use. The other models are: eMachines D3315, D3415, T3410, & W3107. If anyone comes across anything on these models please let me know. THANKS AGAIN !

hi again a mobo change will not affect your hdd at all you just need the drivers that come with it obviously you would need to buy a new os in the future as the restore discs won't work on it as it will only put your original drivers back on it .i build my own systems and have never had a problem with doing the same thing as you .i have swapped out a mobo on a emachines system for my mother in law and had no problems

    Hello again,
Thanks for the reply brianj1175. I checked out the link that you suggested & thanx for posting it. As far as the Windows XP OS, can I use a used version of XP that I installed on another computer ? I still have the disks & it would save me $, which I'm trying to do right now. Thanks for your help !

yes that would work just fine when it comes to activating it you just phone on the free phone number they will ask you how many pcs it is installed on but just say one and that you had to do a reinstall due to hardware faliure they should talk you through the rest
